78-Year-Old American Citizen Sentenced to Life in Chinese Prison on Espionage Charges

In a Chinese court, a 78-year-old American citizen and Hong Kong permanent resident, John Shing-Wan Leung, has been sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of espionage, Nectar Gan reports for CNN. The Intermediate People’s Court in Suzhou handed down the conviction and sentence, along with the confiscation of Leung’s personal property worth 500,000 yuan which is $71,797.
