Butler Snow Expands Gulfport Business Services Team
GULFPORT, MS—Butler Snow LLP is pleased to announce that Brian A. Cowan has joined the firm’s Gulfport office.
He will practice within the Business Services group and focus his practice on mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property and software commercialization, as well as real estate development and finance.
Since beginning his law career 30 years ago, Cowan has represented a plethora of clients across diverse industries on matters related to oil and natural gas gathering and processing, infrastructure construction and operations, industrial development and construction, financial negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, government regulation, and more. Prior to his legal career, Cowan served as a vice president for a large regional bank, granting him a unique purview into the financial and business world that he will bring and apply in his role at Butler Snow.
Cowan has utilized his impressive business acumen and legal expertise to work with project developers in relation to overall project development, real estate acquisition, contract negotiation and administration, engineering, procurement, construction, licensing, bidding, permitting, tax incentives, financing, operations, and more. He has represented international clients across multibillion-dollar projects.
Following the finance chapter of his career, Cowan earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He is a member of the Pro Bono Project in New Orleans, helping low income individuals and families access attorneys to resolve legal matters while also helping raise money for the Project on the Justice for All Ball Committee.
