Chicago Sun-Times Shines A Light on ‘Oath Keepers’ In Police Departments Throughout Chicago Area
In the third installment of their ‘Extremism in the Ranks’ series, the Chicago Sun Times, WBEZ Chicago and OCCRP highlight the story of Jyran Mitchell — a high school track champion and highly recruited college football prospect who was injured while being mistakenly detained by an state trooper tied to the Oath Keepers — and a number of high profile officers in the service in Illinois with ties to the extremist group including cops who work as campus police at colleges across the area, county sheriffs and village police.
