Claim of Anti Latino Bias in New Jersey Municipal Court
The New Jersey Division on Civil Rights is now investigating allegations of discrimination at Millville Municipal Court in Cumberland County, New Jersey, Matt Gray reports for NJ.com. Judge Jason Witcher claims that Latino defendants were not given the option to attend court virtually and were required to attend in person. Witcher first raised his allegations on the record during court in December and has accused his superiors of retaliation. The state judiciary conducted its own investigation and, while it is ongoing, claimed that they have found no evidence of discrimination.
