FBI Commits To Recruiting More Women Officers, Agents and Leaders
The FBI Charlotte Field Office and the CMPD announced the FBI’s commitment to join the national 30×30 Initiative on Saturday in North Carolina in honor of National Women’s History Month. The 30×30 program commits law enforcement agencies to the goal of increasing the number of woman officers to 30 percent by the year 2030. Women make up 23 percent of the FBI special agent position according to the FBI. At the joint recruitment event on March 4th, 2023, women from both agencies spoke about their experiences working in traditionally male-dominated professions and worked to inspire potential applicants to pursue careers in law enforcement.
“We are all in this together, and we need law enforcement to reflect the diverse communities we serve. Recruitment remains a top priority for our department, and this event is just one of many strategic efforts we are making to build our team and continue to serve our community,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Deputy Chief Jacquelyn Hulsey said on Saturday.
