One of Australia’s Most Wanted Arrested In Raid In Turkey On Organized Crime Charges

Police in Turkey have arrested the man who is allegedly Australia’s “most wanted organized crime boss,” Lucy Cormack and Nick McKenzie report for The Sydney Morning Herald. Hakan Ayik and 36 others accused of coordinating an international organized crime operation were arrested in Istanbul on Thursday. According to Turkish authorities, an estimated $250 million in assets were also seized as part of the operation which included extensive collaboration between Australian and Turkish agencies.
