Virginia Mass Shooter Arrested Moments Before Planned Attack Church
A man who allegedly intended to carry out a mass shooting at a church in Northern Virginia Sunday morning has been arrested by local authorities there, Walter Morris reports for NBC 4 Washington. Rui Jiang, 35, was found in possession of a loaded gun, a knife, and extra ammo just outside Park Valley Church in Haymarket when he was taken into custody. Police were alerted to Jiang’s plans by a concerned citizen who saw posts of him pointing a firearm at pictures of churches and said that he was literally moments away from entering the church and attacking its congregation before he was caught. He is currently being held without bond.
